Our Sheep
At startup, Sunny Breeze Farm purchased 50% East Friesian ewes. We've increased that percentage to 75%. Our rams are East Friesian X Lacaune crosses. Our ewes are primarily kept in a drylot with shelter, but we are increasing pasturing as we can add fences. They are fed alfalfa and a small amount of corn or barley. Though we are not an organic farm, we do not use any added hormones to increase the milk yield of our ewes.
Our Cheese
Sunny Breeze Farm cheeses are all made from pasteurized milk, and contain only sheep milk produced here on our own farm. We use what is known as "vegetable" rennet. The seasonings used in our sheep cheeses are all natural. Browse our cheeses, or read our product quality guarantee.
